We first installed a Blink XT2 camera in the alley garage. A month later someone approached him from behind, knocked him out and ripped out his batteries. While this camera still worked great after putting in the new batteries (except for a piece of fairing around the battery cover which was ripped off but doesn't affect performance or weatherproofing), I wanted to make it better. I have ordered two more cameras and a set of these mounts. The original camera as well as the new camera were mounted on the garage roof and a third was mounted to a nearby fence using the included Blink mount and silicone sleeve. A few weeks later, someone pulled up to our garage down an alley. A camera installed in the garage captured their well-lit faces as they pulled up, while a camera installed on the fence captured their license plate. They jumped out of the car, ripped the camera off the fence and threw it aside. (This camera used the included Blink mount.) They ripped off two cameras in the garage. (Obviously this was planned in advance) The piece holding the trim to the garage broke in half when they did it. Had they remembered to remove the batteries, it would have taken time to undo the screws on the back while the camera was recording and still sending video to Blink's servers. it happened. I reordered two more sets which arrived the next day. We replaced the broken parts so I could reinstall the cameras and put the rest in the spares box as I expect this to happen again. The garage where the cameras were filmed was not damaged. These brackets are strong enough to hold once installed, but fragile enough that if someone does something like this, only the brackets will be damaged. Video and close-up photos were sent to police as part of the report. Within a week the Chicago police found this man, our neighbors were able to recover most of what was stolen, and all we lacked was transportation for the incident. :)
