great but with one major caveat

I was skeptical but these screws are incredibly good. They actually keep to the beat, even the standard Philips. I am unsure of the utility of their patented Robertson/Phillips double bite other than to protect their patent. Even with the standard Phillips they seem to have less stealth than the standard screw. Wonderful. The quality of workmanship is excellent. They are incredibly easy to use. You don't even need a pilot hole.! The price surcharge compared to conventional screws is minimal, at least for the purchase quantity of 1000 screws. mfr website. Only the benefits are discussed. OK . but what is missing? Not a word about the strength of the separation. Because they screw in so easily, 1) they likely have less pull-out strength than a standard wood screw. 2) They are likely to loosen more easily than a standard wood screw over repeated tightening cycles, such as B. when opening and closing a door hinge. The lack of even a hint of these factors on the manufacturer's website is all I need to prove these screws lack these factors. If I had the choice, I wouldn't let them be used for my building project. Cost savings from time efficiency benefit 100% of the contractor, not you. While you get 100% of the long-term cons of the two main cons I mentioned. A minor downside is that the 8 sizes available in this kit are the only 8 sizes the manufacturer makes. I wish there were more sizes available. For light DIY use, I recommend these screws (5 stars). I would buy them and buy them again. For the contractor looking to save time and improve quality, I highly recommend these screws as well. As a homeowner or other customer on a large project, I would prohibit the use of these screws, even considering the very high safety factors inherent in the screw specifications. A bit disappointing that they are made in China. For the same price, there are USA-made Spax propellers that also have a combined cross/square drive. However, they do not have the "Stick-Tite" drive and other features that these screws have. So if that's what you care about, the same price entry is actually a premium as you lose features. EDIT: Added an asterisk in response to the speed comment on lift off strength.
