Expensive but works well for keyboards

Let's get the obvious part out of the way. yes it is expensive Yes, it's a bitter pill to swallow when it costs a significant fraction of the price of an entire computer. But that money doesn't just fill Microsoft's pockets. You are buying a really high quality product. In fact, the price is the only downside I can find with this keyboard. This is a new keyboard model with improved key layout. The magnetic closure that secures the keyboard to the PC is exceptionally strong. . While I don't recommend abusing your computer, it's strong enough to lift a tablet by the keyboard. The tilt magnets are also quite strong and hold securely. The action of the keys makes this keyboard very comfortable to use. It's non-mechanical, but for its size and meager throw distance, it's still surprisingly fun. With the keyboard tilted, I type at full speed (95 words per minute) all night with no problem. The backlit buttons offer a feature that's becoming increasingly popular in today's market, and you'll have a hard time finding it in competitor Bluetooth offerings. It's "wired," plugged in, and doesn't bind to your Surface's only USB port, making it a great option for busy people who might need to use this device on an airplane where wireless options might be frowned upon. It is also convenient to fold and store with your computer. Folding it down to protect the screen feels like a double-edged sword to me. On the one hand, you're protecting your $500+ worth of Surface. well, the surface. On the other hand, the item you are endangering is still worth $125! The touchpad is quite usable. It only has one button, which you activate by pressing the touchpad. When you do this, it checks where your finger is, and if it's in the lower-right corner, it registers a right-click. Everywhere else is a normal click. Multi-touch works as expected, although it can be tricky to use due to the fact that it doesn't give you much real estate. The palm rest and false press suppression are there, but the sensible touchpad placement doesn't make this an issue for me. Your mileage may vary. While it's a bit chunky as a laptop, the Surface 3 and Type Cover combo still works when you put it on your lap. I like the black finish. I feel that it perfectly complements the computer's black screen. If you prefer to make a statement by choosing a colour, there are other options for you. I will not stop you.
