Review on BEZGAR Rechargeable Batteries for Hobby-Grade Performance by Bret Wong

Great for kids who need to know what to do when not used to RC cars

Got this for my 5 and 8 year old kids. Wow, this technology has come a long way in terms of price since I was a kid. It works great. A few positive points.1. Even for a 5 year old the remote control was pretty intuitive and he got the hang of it pretty quickly. I like this look much more than 2 stick remotes for such machines.2. The remote control has a speed controller. It runs pretty fast, but the slow speed setting is pretty good for normal yard use, even from a 5+3. No problem driving through the yard, gravel driveway, small obstacles, up/down the culvert in front of our house. Has a long range. And a few nuances (I will not call them minuses). I'm not a RC car fan so some of this might be obvious if you're into it. For me it was new.1. The battery is a battery that charges via the included USB cable and connects to a more traditional battery charger with a plastic connector. Compared to children's toys, this is a bit strange. I'm more used to inserting something directly into paragraph 2. To charge the battery you have to unplug a small cable from the outside of the case (which is easy) and then tuck it away when you're done. Or remove the outer case which requires removing 4 small pins. Removing the case just to charge the battery seems pretty difficult to maintain (and I'm not sure how long-lasting these headers will be with repeated use). That being said, if you don't bring the extra battery back, it's easy enough to unplug the small cord on the outside of the battery and charge it that way. It just doesn't look like a normal toy when you think about it.3. The exterior of the truck body is a lightweight plastic body made primarily for looks. It seems solid enough considering my kids rode it, but it's definitely not a tonka truck or anything. This thing can take up a decent amount of space to run. Our backyard is about 1/3 acre and it works fine. I wouldn't want to run that in our old Stadthof. This requires a walk in the park.

Pros
  • Hands free control
Cons
  • Not bad but...
