Great idea - poor execution. Mine was shipped with no instructions - don't worry right? who needs them Ha ha, to everyone who bought this instrument. After assembling a template that matches the picture on the box, I decided to test it on scrap metal before using it on my blank. Glad I did - the left and right sides differ by more than 1/8 inch. This made me scratch my head and look for directions again. I figured it must be user error. Although I couldn't find written instructions, I did find a video demonstrating how to use it. Did not help. I did not discuss the assembly, but I did confirm that I assembled the tool correctly and when troubleshooting I found that the jig was not square. There is considerable play on the skids, but even with all fasteners loosened you cannot adjust to get a square. When they are placed side by side (the edges have a perfectly even seam), you can clearly see how the two sides are misaligned. move one panel at a time. That's when I discovered what a poor quality beat they were broadcasting. Forget the depth gauge is too shallow (happy setting btw), the drill completely crippled the jaws I tested. I can only imagine what it will do to solid wood let alone veneer on cabinet plywood. Anyway, live and learn. Gave it two stars because I'll probably finish some body work with my own self-centering drill bits before they crumble the edges of the acrylic rails.
