I tried this monitor because I like working with ultra-wide aspect ratios - the LG UltraFine 4K and 5K displays sold by Apple are too portrait for me; I think they have too much vertical space to use effectively which is why I ended up buying this display despite the cost. However, it is clear that this display was NOT designed for Mac. I have an M1 MacBook Air and the display never turned on when using the Bluetooth keyboard with the laptop lid closed. To turn on the display, I had to open the laptop screen, turn it on, and then close the lid. It made no sense. In addition, the display will go to sleep randomly and at odd intervals. It's also worth noting that you can't control the volume or brightness of the display using the Apple keyboard or Control Panel - you'll have to do it manually. If you have a PC, the experience might be better, but if you have a Mac, stay away. You can buy the iMac 5K cheaper and get a keyboard, mouse and computer for free! And it will work!
