Not for me but decent product

Not for me. The amp was loud enough and fairly well made, but all the magic and excitement of the humble tube hybrid amp it replaced was gone. This tube amp kind of fried after 3 months but I didn't realize how great it was until its digital replacement came along, this SMSL AD80. SMSL's music sounded so crazy that on the third day I broke down and collected it and went back to Amazon. Also, I should make a special note that I'm very skeptical about this weird subwoofer connection. The sound from my active subwoofer was so quiet and so similar to the sound of a tube amp that I was concerned that my subwoofer would burn out along with the tube amp. But when I split the signal from the preamp to the subwoofer, it thundered again. So mine may have been defective, but the subwoofer on mine was almost non-functional. Likewise. It is necessary to mention the equalizer settings. So I went to college in the mid '90s when the Aiwa all-in-one sound system hounded us students with terrible performance and terrible sound. The most disgusting aspect of all of these (and there were many) were preset equalizer settings, each of which made your music worse and worse. Inna in words, little has changed. By the way, "jazz" with real jazz was the worst thing on this SMSL. In any case, "no eq" was announced. And the music was loud and that was clear enough. It just wasn't that exciting music, full of depth, brilliance, shadows, textures, nuances, details etc. I was spoiled by the sound of a tube amp and there's no going back. I should also mention that I used two tube preamps in the SMSL and I figured that would be enough to give me the sound I was looking for plus all the benefits of a digital amp. However, it just didn't work for me. Also, everything was pretty hard to read on the tiny screen. As I said, the device is well made and many good reviews attest to its usefulness to many, so I don't want to be too harsh. It just didn't work for me.
