Review on πŸ”ͺ Fiskars Precision 12-Inch Rotary Bypass Trimmer by Michelle Langley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Happy so far.

I've only been using the Fiskars 100580-1002 12" rotary bypass trimmer for a week but have used it several times a day and am still very satisfied. As I have many paper cutters I can compare say this one cuts with excellent precision (I mean DIRECTLY) The footprint is a little larger than I expected but for me the straightness outshines the size of the trump card I also appreciate the self-sharpening blade as the constant buying of spare blades is my main complaint was about the other cutter I had Two interesting mentions - 1. This cutter claims to cut thick materials but pay special attention to the materials listed, as thick chipboard/cardboard is not one of them. 2. The blade mechanism isn't exactly an easy glide, but once you start expecting "drag" it becomes easier to use. If anyone has doubts between Cutterpillar Crop and this cutter, choose this one. A year ago, after a similar debate, I chose a different one. it looked great at first, but quickly fell out of favor - the cuts were always just whiskers and got worse over time, grid lines were almost impossible to see, light only made sense on white or very light paper, and the manufacturer's customer The service was less than outstanding. On the other hand, Fiskars stands behind its products unconditionally. All in all, I wish I hadn't waited so long to make this purchase. FYI - I took a chance and ordered this "second hand" from the Amazon warehouse and saved almost $15. The plastic "window" on the front of the factory packaging was cracked. That's all. The box itself was still factory sealed and the cutter was brand new/perfect.

Pros
  • trimmer and paper knife
Cons
  • flimsy
