Printer still displays 'Replace Ribbon' message

We bought this a few months ago but only opened it a few weeks ago (early September). Surprisingly, our printer (MFC-L8600 CDW) still shows the "Replace belt" warning. If you purchase this product I would recommend installing it immediately while you are still within the limited return window. Very disappointed - because these belts are not cheap!
