Review on πŸ“» Sangean TB-100 TOUGHBOX Digital Rechargeable Radio, Green - FM/AM/Aux Ultra-Rugged by Dana Mahendra

Revainrating 4 out of 5

You pay for a sturdy suitcase and additional admission.

The radio is very weak and the antenna is almost unusable. There is no tone control. There is no headphone jack. The radio tuner sound will be distorted if no other antenna is used, which is difficult as no antenna with the same fitting can be found. There's no connector for an external antenna for AM, and the instructions say to turn the radio in different directions for good reception, which is an excuse. The AUX input jack is good and the sound from my MP3 player is great. Radio=tuner is cheap - even my little ancient walkman radio is much better. They could have done a lot better for the price but didn't. The tuner memory setting is simple and intuitive, the memory is separated for AM and FM, which is thoughtful and practical. search for a case. Too bad for a cheap tuner. The power cable is neatly stowed on the rear frame. Fairly good recharge ability when using "C" batteries.

Pros

You're paying for the rugged casing and the aux input.

Buy the Yellow, Green or Black version, not the Bluetooth or SE versions.
