I used this in a 'helping hand' project. This connector screwed into a drilled and cut cutting board, snapped in about 15 inches of the latch line, and attached a small alligator clip to the other end. The cutting board was drilled and then screwed in place with this 1/4" 18 NPT tap. For my use, cheap knockoffs work pretty well too, but I've yet to strip hot glue or hit them with a soldering iron. The loc-line brand is a durable quality material that I've dripped hot glue on, dripped solder on and hit with the hot end of a soldering iron. The loc-line material is still fine.
