Review on Lyman Pocket Touch Powder Funnel by Angie Miller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

In theory, so far so good.

I bought this scale to reload shotgun shells. I tested this digital scale on my beam scale and on my Lee Load All 2 Powder Bushings (after calculating the conversion to granules). I had a proper 3 way match between them with 3 random loads which I pulled out with a Winchester AA Super Handi Cap. So far, so good. As an added bonus, I used my powder gauge to drop a few charges and used it for testing as well. Everything looks good. Unfortunately, I couldn't reload a single shot due to the lack of primers. Out of the box, the plastic covering the scale and the scale's face was warped and I have to pry it off every time. Don't like it as any extra pressure can tip the scales off. Perhaps because of that cheap plastic component, the scale is making a comeback. My only concern is that there seems to be electromagnetic interference between my small shop lamp at my work station and the digital scale. What happens is I turn off Lyman's digital scale and put it back on. on my bank to save it. When my light is on, the scale turns itself on and gives out jumbled up letters or randomly fluctuating numbers. If my light is off, the scale won't turn on. I tested this by turning the lights on and off and looking at the scale. With each cycle to the "on" position of the lamp, the scale turns on and off. I'm not sure if this is due to the scale's sensitivity to the electromagnetism of the light or its wires, or if there is some other issue. It should be a low low frequency so I'm not worried. I just didn't know that the scale case is so thin and that kind of noise can skew the results. Overall I've had a good experience with the scales, although I haven't been able to test reloading real shots, the scales have been on par. Now I will test the scale again as I have learned about electromagnetic interference. I will also test the scale against other RF interference from ham radios and CB radios on various frequencies. For now I'm leaving a 4x rating.
