Review on 3M CF12 BLACK CARBON FIBER Exterior Accessories by Johnathan Cash

Ideal for flat surfaces. but.

I am a fan of 3M Scotchprint products. I have posted 4 full sets of sheer bras and many small CF pieces. Pros: The build quality of this CF pattern is second to none. It stands out so well and the pattern is clearly visible, especially under the sun. Compared to the super cheap versions I've used in the past, the adhesive is much stronger but leaves no residue after peeling off. It is easy to cut and stretch. Cons: I have a heck of a lot of time to wrap real 3D objects like side mirrors. I don't care what YouTube (not even 3M themselves) shows you, you will NEVER be able to make a mirror housing perfect. Foil has a good ability to recover and stretch, but recovers too well when heated when it tends to return to its original size (or smaller). It may look perfect right after, but after a day of parking on the street under the side, the edging started to shrink and fold into "ears”. 3M told you to pre-stretch the film before applying it to the mirror, but it's still just a B/S, it doesn't really work, especially in the corners. The adhesive is relatively strong, but not strong enough to hold the liner in place to prevent shrinkage and wrinkles, similar to a sheer bra. Conclusion: An ideal film for relatively flat surfaces such as roofs, bonnets, dashboards and other decorative elements in two sizes. but not a box-like object.
