They are really strong. I don't have a washer/dryer so I use it to send all my weekly laundry to a commercial dry cleaner. I fill the entire pouch and have never had a problem with the pouch tearing. I recently had the opportunity to dump 21.8 pounds of junk (mostly metal) and I wondered if these bags would hold that much weight. After posting weight restrictions in the questions section of the product description, the seller replied that the bag could hold 15 pounds and the duo pack could probably hold 25 pounds. The double canvas held my 21.8 pounds without tearing the bottom or puncture the sides of the sacks. You'll probably never have to do that again, but for one-time use, the bags fit very well.
