I ordered these for my four year old daughter. She loves to help but sometimes interferes with what I'm doing. I don't want to discourage her desire to help, but as a busy mom, I just want to get things done. I often struggle to find tasks that are safe/easy enough for them that I can still do whatever I'm trying to do. Preparing dinner is one of the things she loves to help with. She can use these knives to help me chop vegetables. They work very well with things like carrots. She's also tried potatoes, and she can make it smaller. She has no strength for more. She kind of scratched herself with a knife, but it wasn't a serious injury. I've tried using them myself and they cut pretty well, but I wouldn't say they cut as well as a regular knife. For certain things you definitely need a little more power. They work well enough if you don't care if the food looks pretty or not.
