Central focusing mechanism is rough and jerky, attached lens caps fall off with the slightest touch and terrain is very sensitive to alignment. As the boat is always in motion, this means that the image is often partially obscured by black "shadows" moving from the edges - not at all what one would expect from a 50mm lens at such a low magnification would expect. My other binoculars are from Leitz, Nikon, Pentax and Bushnell.
