Review on OWC iMac 2012 In-Line Digital Thermal Sensor HDD Upgrade Cable (Model: OWCDIDIMACHDD12) by Ryan Schweigert

It works, but be careful! Different from pictured.

Where to start. I first ordered this in December and they sent me a 2011 kit with a 2012 tag on it. The blue pick-shaped tool wasn't included, so I used the green one that came with it. It was too thick and my display cracked. The late 2012 iMac LCD was fused to the glass rather than just screwed on, so I had to replace the entire LCD and glass. Fast forward 3 months. I have ordered the set again. It's not YET what is pictured, but according to the OWC website it's correct for a 2012 iMac. It includes a card with a link to a video from 2011 (wrong) which I have to assume was another mistake. OWC assured me that the content is correct. I have attached a photo of what you should receive. Different cables, less screwdrivers etc. Bottom line if you order this is to make sure it is the correct kit and matches the picture on the Macsales website. The one who packs these things does not do it carefully. And Revane distorts it with an image. The product itself deserves more stars and their instruction video was great, but I encourage anyone ordering it to get it direct from Macsales and not Revain. And if you don't want to do it yourself, getting help from a professional is probably cheaper than replacing the display.
