Review on Enhanced Aluminum Extruder Replacement by HICTOP by Pop Henneghan

The original plastic extruder was constantly unstable. The pinion and bearing worked fine from time to time, but the finished prints consistently showed signs of under-extrusion, and from time to time I noticed the bearing would stall completely while the pinion was moving. I've carefully leveled the bed, cleaned the hot-end hole, changed the nozzle, and tried adjusting the extruder's spring tension with various shim configurations, but nothing has produced consistent results. Simply replacing a cheap plastic extruder with this aluminum extruder has changed day and night. I can finally admire what the CR-10 is capable of.
