Before that, there were many smartphones. I gave preference to the apple, but there were many Android smartphones, but not from the flagship segment, because I thought it was stupid to give a lot of money for a smartphone on an open OS (Android), when there is a middle/budget segment on the same OS and with the same goodies and the approximate speed of the shell, and plus the fact that Android flagships in the secondary market lose much more in price in the secondary market than the iPhone. I change phones often, once every 3-6 months, most often there were iPhones (last year - 6s, 6s Plus, SE, 7), but iOS 11 was the final drop of patience, and I have long wanted to try the flagship on Android from a global brand, because before I have never used Android Flagships, and generally smartphones from Samsung. There were xiaomi, and leko, and all sorts of Acer, LG, even YotaPhone. But the hands did not reach the samsa. And now, patience is over, and the time has come. In general, the phone turned out to be good, balanced, beautiful, and quite powerful. What else do you need for a flagship?
