Having used this product for a while I have to say I am very impressed. I think it strikes a great balance of security and convenience and has some really nice premium features that make me feel like a 5 star product. Pros: - Three sets of keys! It is extremely rare to find a product that includes a third additional key. This is a really nice perk as you can leave it in a high traffic area in case you arrive at your destination and realize you forgot your key at home or if you lost your key and need to unlock your bike! - The keys are very high quality. I have used many different U-locks and the keys are cut from very thin and inferior metal. I have had several padlocks where the key was so damaged that it no longer worked. These are solid buttons and it looks like they stick very well. The tote bag is well thought out. It bolts directly (with included hardware) to standard water bottle cages and is really solid. The lock is easy to insert/remove from the case. Velcro straps are also included in the kit but I would not recommend using them. The most important thing is safety. I used similar folding locks from ABUS and they were just thin braided metal cables in a plastic case. This product is a solid steel plate. I think it's a good compromise between security and comfort. It's not as secure as a strong U-lock (there's nothing quite like it), but it's much better than braided cable, which is pretty easy to cut. The advantage over U-locks is that it is much longer and more flexible. I have a quick release on my front wheel and depending on what I use to lock the bike it may not be possible to lock both the wheel and frame with a single U-lock. So I can safely lock myself up anywhere. And as a perk if I'm riding with someone else only one of us has to carry a padlock as he can easily tie two bikes to something. Cons: - Price. It's definitely expensive. For this price you get a top rated U-lock and it is technically more secure. However, given the premium design and convenience, I think it's worth it. - The weight. That thing weighs more than it looks. You can place it fairly low on the frame so it doesn't affect the dynamics of your bike too much, which is good. In fact, however, it is impossible to make the lock reliable without making it heavier. - Noise. The advertised "anti-rattle" function is not perfect. When driving on slippery surfaces, the lock does not rattle, but it certainly makes noise over bumps. I'm a bit of a rattle elimination fanatic so that bothers me, but not enough to dock the star. Overall, this is a great, flexible, medium to high security lock that will allow you to quickly and easily handle situations where a U-lock won't work and a cable lock is less secure.
