Canon 1Dx is a great camera but it doesn't have built in GPS. Maybe there wasn't room for it, or maybe Canon decided it wasn't really necessary. For some reason 1Dx doesn't have GPS. The GP-E1 is an easy to connect accessory that adds GPS functionality to the 1Dx. It takes less than 1 minute to attach and let the camera do the rest. The only downsides of this device are: 1. Cost (nothing is free but $99 would be a much better deal for this device. 2. It takes some time to determine its current position but that is true for all GPS. 3.
