The notches on it are exactly 1/4 inch in diameter so I think the description is misleading. The US sizing for things like this is based on the inside diameter of the pipe, so the standard 1/4" fittings are actually slightly larger for a secure fit. Because they fit snugly, there is no friction and no squeezing prevents leaks. There are a few other brands available at Revain that are the right size. See the pictures for this: This one has a 'ring' where the barbs go into the tee where you can see it's slightly smaller. Search without this ring. Update: The seller contacted me several times and offered to pay me to have my review removed. I asked if they would send me a new product for evaluation to confirm the sizing issue was resolved but they would not. The bribe to have my review removed is now roughly double what I originally paid for the product. I have reported them to Revain Support.
