Review on πŸ”‘ Honda CR-V Odyssey Accord Crosstour Civic CR-Z Key Fob Shell Case Replacement with Screwdriver - Keyless Entry Remote Key Housing (2+1 Button, 1pcs) by Shawn Quick

Just bought; looks solid

I received this a few hours ago and successfully replaced my cracked and fragmented key fob with this one. (2013 Honda Fit) This can be a little tricky; In addition to the advice from online tutorial videos, I had trouble swapping out the case after installing the key (and base) and button/battery console. the side opposite the key bit where the key ring gap is). Then slide/push the body up towards the blade end of the key, snapping it back into the slots. It was helpful to read other reviews encouraging me not to push things too hard. It should take a little effort, but not too much. If something doesn't feel right, don't force it; Just pull the components back out, make sure they're clean (old broken plastic can sometimes leave a lot of small fragments) and make sure everything is tight and try again. It fits exactly (as it should), but it will work. Also, the base of the key blade slides up into the end slot; it doesn't press directly on it (that will likely break the side tabs; they're designed to slide into the slot from below). I've only had it for a few hours and haven't used it in my car yet. But it seems very durable; The first impression is good. If anything negative happens (breaks easily, wears out after use, etc.) I will update this review accordingly with appropriate warnings.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
