These socks are not cotton and will not wear out. They are a bit thin but not too thin for my liking and they are comfortable. The other reason I bought these is because most other socks fit basically everyone. There is no sock that really fits shoe sizes 6 to 12. I have a size 7 foot and the heels of other socks get tangled at the back. These socks fit MUCH better without being too small. The funny thing is that each pair is marked with an "L" on the left toe and a small "R" on the right. I'm not sure if it really matters which foot they're on, but it annoys me when I see an L or R on the wrong foot.
