Collar and quality are very good. And since the collar is leather, it fully extends the chain when you let go of the leash. This is difficult with nylon martingale collars because nylon is not repellent and unlike chains has a little more friction against plastic hoops. However, the reason I don't give it five stars is because the size is way off. I think whoever measured it forgot to include the distance between the 3 metal loops (2 for connecting to skin, 1 for attaching leash) to the "fully extended" measurement. The name states that the line is fully stretched at 16" and 20". It's about 16" correctly, but fully stretched it was closer to 22 3/4". My dogs have an 18 inch neck so I figured this size would be perfect. Too loose. I returned them and ordered 14 inches.
