I like the collar but had to return it for a new size. I have an 85 pound golden retriever mix with a 19.5 inch neck when I measured accurately. I wrote and asked the company how to figure out what size to buy and they said to buy either this 18" or this 16". I have an 18 inch collar which is so big that it just falls off my head looking down. I just ordered 14" hoping they work because they are really good. The padding is thick, the leather is smooth and the chain is thick and heavy.

LOVE. For the fit info: my dog's neck is 19.5" and the 16" fits well (and is a bit loose). It looks crisp and is clearly of good quality. Finding the right fit was an utter pain because I just couldn't figure out what the numbers meant. Turns out the number of inches is just the length of the leather strip. This product is made in India. UPDATE: 6 weeks after my dog wore this collar I discovered that the iron links are the reason my dog looks gray and downright dirty all around the collar. neck

Great collar for my big neck small head dog. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the metal chain on the collar turned the white fur on my pup's neck to silver gray where it touches. I wish they could make a chain that didn't. But the collar works exactly as I had hoped. I love these collars. I have Italian Mastiffs (Cane Corso) and they can pull a little when starting. Everyone they respond really well to these collars. It can easily get their attention without hurting them and both are very responsive. The collars are very durable. The leather is thick and strong, the chain is strong. This is difficult with nylon martingale collars because nylon is not repellent and unlike chains has a little more friction against plastic hoops. This is one of the luxury dog collars. However, it is a full 1 inch wide. I like this width as it distributes the dog's pulling force over most of the dog's neck. However, it looks large on a Labrador. My wife prefers a 3/4" wide nylon collar. The collar measures 2" and cannot be adjusted like nylon models. The first one I bought (14") was a little tight. The chain was completely disconnected, but always still tight. I returned it immediately. I had to pay for the return shipping despite Prime.
