I have city water and just want to keep clean cold water in the fridge to mix powdered drink with lemonade or even make a glass of powdered milk out of it from time to time. I don't drink enough milk to justify buying a pack as it often goes bad before I've finished drinking it. That's why I keep whole milk powder on hand when I feel the need for a glass. I filled this jug and put it in the fridge - it works well for me, but after reading what another reviewer found, all I can say is that my water doesn't usually taste or smell bad. I just wanted some clean filtered water to chill in the fridge and it works for me.
