After setting up the switch it still worked pretty well. Based on other reviews, I was expecting the switch to reset its configuration during a software update, so up to this point I've only configured it minimally. Since then, the switch has been working quietly and reliably. Regarding manageability, I understand that the separation between the "Monitor" and "Configuration" views is necessary to provide different roles, but the distribution of configuration functions and port information has been translated into many menu navigations to set everything up that way , as I wanted it. The switch's default IP address (192.168.1.1) is the same as many regular budget routers, which means it's not really "plug and play" for many people - it needs to be updated and at least partially configured offline before it is possible to be connected to the network. This isn't a problem for a 'business class switch' as it comes with a price tag, but at this price point it's clearly intended for home use. The switch reset its configuration and default IP address when it was upgraded from a very old software version it came with. . With a poorly chosen standard IP, this means unnecessary setup work for home users that could have been avoided. Pros: High port density, low power consumption, fast, feature rich, low cost. old, in need of renovation. Doesn't work as a plug and play for many home networks due to an incorrectly chosen default IP address. The IP address is reset to the default value during a software update.
