OK, I'll admit, I was a little dubious at the cost of this item, given what it does, and given what comparable items seem to cost, i.e. roughly half.And it's true, you can get a cheaper phone holder for your golf cart than this. Will it last a season, two? Who knows. You get what you pay for.Over-engineered is a mild term to describe this phone holder. It's got some heft, and it is clearly a well-designed item.It's so well designed I wish I could use it more often in my normal life, because it really does just feel. substantial and awesome!The magnet is very strong, and adhered to the side of my desk, and feels like it would take quite a bit to get it to pop loose.That said, I have not tried it in a golf cart yet, also, I don't know if the thumb screw on the side will loosen as the phone bounces or not yet. These things will have to be determined by me playing a few rounds of golf with it, which, unfortunately, might not be in the cards this year, but I will be back in the spring to update this review if this holder does anything less than impress me. But for now, this holder impresses me a great deal.
