Despite some technical and networking knowledge, I was frustrated with some settings. After configuring DHCP as I wanted, I was able to ping many websites but could not view them in any web browser even though all web filters were disabled. The only way I've found to enable web browsing is to set web filtering to _ON_ but then set the default policy to allow. I had a similar experience with App Control, although there is no default App Control so I have to explicitly allow whatever I use. I understand that I need control, but I want my initial configuration to be just a router and then start adding controls after everything is up and running. Also, it's counterintuitive that you have to turn on filtering or controls for things to happen. I expect filtering to be disabled or application control disabled to bypass this feature and let everything pass. They probably weren't tested that way or are meant to trick you into paying for subscription versions of these tools.
