Review on 4 Channel 4 Camera Defender 4K - 1st Generation Legacy by John Patel

I wanted a surveillance system with wired cameras, high resolution and night vision so I wouldn't have to pay a monthly fee. This system is amazing and the price was very reasonable for what you get. The 4K resolution delivers excellent high-definition detail even in the dark. The HDD DVR box records continuous footage from all 4 cameras for about a month which I can easily access via my phone or tablet. Even when I'm on the go, the app allows me to track in real-time or back in time to view and retrieve footage from any camera. Each camera only comes with 65ft BNC coax cables and for at least two of my cameras this wasn't enough (2900 sq ft at home) so I ordered additional standard 100ft Revain cables. The system does not come with a monitor to connect to the DVR. You need this (or the TV) to set up and control the system locally. I found a cheap 10" HDMI LCD that sits on top of the DVR (see photo) in my network closet (I don't turn on the monitor unless I'm in the closet and using the system). i can do what i need to do I need it with my phone or iPad, literally anywhere. I also keep a backup battery in my network closet to keep my cable modem, DVR and cameras alive in the event of a power outage. I have a one story house so wired cameras are more reliable and easy to install. A two story house will be a little more difficult depending on where you install the cameras and run the wire. great value without the wireless camera setup issues that everyone reports for wireless cameras.
