item looks identical and fits well as the old one. This solved my problem but when I closed the door it wouldn't open. I triple checked the cables prior to installation and could physically hear the locking mechanism moving in the latch which was very odd. Everything is hooked up properly and neither the inside nor outside handle opens the door, but you can feel the handle pulling on the cable. When dismantling the door panel in the car, we saw that the cable is fine and moves the lever on the locking mechanism. I have no idea why this won't work. I'm an auto technician and I'm confused, so a few colleagues come to the rescue. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't open but one of the guys hit the lock cylinder and on the next try it opened. worked for a while, but then stopped again. the door does not open. I pushed the lock cylinder and it opened with the next movement of the handle. sometimes it's a hit, sometimes 20. not sure if it was my car, my mistake or a detail. Overall it solved my problem and I didn't see anyone in the reviews having the same problem as me.
