I'm a creative professional who needs a laptop to edit photos and videos, create animated graphics and to experiment with 3D. Now I've switched from an all-in-one desktop computer called the Lenovo 520, which didn't let me try many things like 3D, but was good enough for 1080p video editing. However, having always been out with clients, I needed something portable, reliable, and strong to handle almost anything I throw at it. I've looked at the Zephyrus G14, G15, Legion 5 Pro and many laptops in the same class, but I liked this one because it offered the best processor available at the time, the 5900HX, and the graphics card I wanted, the RTX 3070. Although I bought this laptop now for professional creative work, this laptop is a playful BEAST, it handles everything with such ease and does it really well. Almost all games can exceed 100fps which is insane, especially for someone like me who has played consoles all my life, 30fps was usually the limit but a gaming pc has so much to do. As for my creative work, he treats everything like a champ! Even with the battery on and igpu it works very well and I see almost no problems working in Photoshop or editing videos. However, not everything is perfect, while this laptop is great in almost every way, I often really worry about its durability. I expect to use this machine for at least 5 years. My issue is with how the heat is handled or how much it actually roasts. I don't mind too much fan noise because I have headphones plugged in and it doesn't exist for me, but while gaming in Performance mode, which is the default profile setting for the CPU, GPU, and fans, I see temperatures around 80 or sometimes even 85 when gaming of The Witcher 3, on high settings I dial down to medium settings and it hardly makes much of a difference, and sometimes even with my creative tasks that aren't very demanding it hits around 70 degrees Celsius again. However, I found a solution to this problem and am using a manual profile which is a bit noisy but the temperatures are great. Because of this, however, I am concerned about the fans and their lifespan. You can always get a cooling pad and help yourself. I've heard people get great results with it too. In summary the best laptop I've tried, amazing performance, amazing size and fun to play with. In my case it's worth it, the only downside is the temperature, but you can solve this problem in several ways!
