To protect your dog from falling off the windscreen or jumping out of the car this is great. The length feels a bit short. So if the dog decides to step off the seat and into the leg area, the dog doesn't have much room to move or lie down when tied to the collar. but it removes some protection and can be used for other purposes. I buckle my seat belt so the dog doesn't run out of the car, but in the car I put it in the hole with a carabiner, loop it around the shoulder harness (seat belt fastened) and attach the carabiner to this seat belt. This gives the dog more freedom of movement, but when stopped the seat belt tightens, preventing the dog from flying forward or trying to jump out the window. (The dog realized that he can lean on the doorknob, then the window goes down, successful press on the automatic window button, but keep the paw there several times until the window goes down)
