02/2021 No, we're back in Moldsville. This time two obviously stained packages and two lost ones. Interestingly, this is the same color that usually appears dry and flaky, two in this batch because I received them as a repeat color. I don't think repetitive colors are common, although at 100 it's hard to tell. The basement smell is back and stronger than ever. It's ventilated, but hanging 90+ pieces is exhausting. At the moment I refuse this package. --- 01/2021 Now that a reviewer got a good batch, I've tried ordering it again because I never seem to learn. Bad news: the basement still smells of mold. Good news: no rotten wool or visible mold this time! previously found on wool, even if that involves unwrapping, hanging and rewrapping 100 packs of roving. Just buying a set of 100 colors wouldn't be worth the hassle. I was really hoping the third time would be charming, but no. i want to love it Colors are bright, there are few very obvious duplicates, and everything is mostly soft and comfortable to the touch. Some of them are a little rougher or drier, but there's always a tan tone that keeps fading and is crumbling/flaking hair like dandruff everywhere. Odor. not so nice. The three orders I received have a strong damp basement smell. A more serious problem is visible mold and/or discoloration in three to four packs. I was hoping the problem was how Revain stored the wool, but the third order had to be fresh. Those without mold will be well aerated after about a week, but having to unwrap and hang 95-96 balls of yarn is time consuming and very, very tempting to cats. Oddly enough, Habbi's 72-color toolkit didn't have the same problem. I ordered them twice and they were fine. It's frustrating, love the color scheme of the 100 color set, just wish I didn't have to get rid of the musty smell and throw away five colors every time.
