Even without direct sun slowly but surely up to 100%

I've been using it for 3 months now and have decided this is enough time to get a clear idea of the performance. Full disclosure, I bought this knowing our site wasn't perfect but just hoping it would at least slow down power consumption and improve battery life between charges. Our camera is installed in front of our house. There is a dog park outside and lots of dogs walking their people. The camera captures the movement of streets, buses and sidewalks. Very busy. The battery life advertised as one year was actually a little over a month for us. I know I can lower the sensitivity and add no-go zones, but that defeats the purpose of a security camera, doesn't it? Unfortunately, the camera is also mounted in a location that is very difficult to reach without a ladder and the need to recruit someone. to help me hold the ladder. Another unfortunate element is that it is installed on the north side of our house where direct sunlight does not reach. It is not in the shade and receives indirect light throughout the day but never full direct sunlight. I ordered this in the hope that it would be charged by indirect light at best---that will at least slow down the battery drain. In the first weeks of late winter that was exactly the case. This slowed down battery drain, so it only dropped about 1% per day. Sometimes it even added a little charge to the battery. Extrapolated to 1% consumption per day, I assumed that in the worst case I would only have to charge the camera every 100 days instead of 1 month without a solar panel as before. I installed the panel on January 24th. At that time the load was 100%. In February, the battery was not charged, but the discharge slowed down and reached 74% in mid-March. Most recently, at the end of March, the battery level was either stable or even increasing by a percentage every few days. On April 25, the charge reached 100%. It is now the end of June and the level has never fallen below 100%. Watching the sun move across the sky, the panel is exposed to direct sunlight for several hours a day. I suspect it will remain strong during the summer months and then slowly fall back in the fall and winter. If again it just slows the runoff as the days get shorter at the end of the year it's still definitely better than no solar panel so I'm definitely happy and very satisfied. If that definitely keeps me from taking the stairs to hand fire and load, I'm in seventh heaven with this product.
