Review on Powerline Pass Thru Homeplug Ethernet PLA6456KIT by Patrick Diaz

I originally used a WiFi extender to speed up my upstairs office but it didn't help at all. Later someone told me about these pass-through ethernet adapters. The catch is that the computer needs to be connected to the adapter with an ethernet cable, but that was fine with me. I believe you can effectively turn it into a WiFi extender by using an adapter with another router and the WiFi router will work. But I didn't try. We were able to increase the download speed from 2-5 MB per second to 95-100 MB per second. We use Google Fiber. For those who don't know how this works, connect an Ethernet cable to the modem and the other end to one of the adapters. Then plug this adapter into the wall. Then go to the room you use for your computer and plug the other adapter into the wall. Now connect an Ethernet cable from this adapter to your computer. And boom! Really high speed. This works because data travels through the electrical circuits in your home from an adapter attached to your modem to an adapter attached to your computer. Our modem is on the first floor in the far east of the house. Our second adapter is on the top floor and on the extreme west side of the house. Distance doesn't reduce speed at all. I am very happy with this purchase and have already recommended it to others. I can experiment with hooking up the router to a second adapter to see if I can get wifi, but it's not needed yet so I haven't looked into that yet.
