Actually I bought this for strawberries. Of course this is a brand new product and this is my first time using it so the blades are really sharp and it went right through them. I can only base this review on my previous knowledge and experience which is why I like the following: Saves time Uniform slices Can be used over a bowl for easy storage of the juice and when used on juicy fruit Easy to use by Hand clean Locks in closed position for convenient storage and security Cons: Not dishwasher safe. worries me personally, but if something is "dishwasher safe" it's always listed as a plus, so I listed it as a minus.) It's a lot easier to pull it out of the drawer than to set up a mandolin that isn't always works with strawberries and it's a nightmare to make juice anywhere but the bowl. I just cut them with a knife on a cutting board, but again the slices are either thick or thin for a long time and there is a problem with the juice. So for me the perfect solution for slicing strawberries.
