These ceramic body (rather than clear glass) F/A fuses are designed for use in industrial equipment. There's no glass to shatter and no debris to fall on delicate circuit boards and mechanisms. A ceramic body fuse is more durable than a glass body fuse. The disadvantage is that the "open" thread is not visible. A fuse tester or ohmmeter is required for a proper fuse integrity test.
