Review on πŸ”§ Storage Holder for Drills - Wall Control by Jennifer Duncan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fits most DeWalt drill bits but not all

If you read reviews on this holder you will notice that some people say DeWalt drill bits don't fit while others say they do . In fact, both reviews are somewhat true - it all depends on what kind of suspense you're talking about. This holder is perfect for the new 20v drills The top battery stands are perfect for 20v batteries and the drill itself fits exactly as it should. It's like they designed a holder for new drill bits. The holder also fits older 12v drills, the drills fit fine, as well as 20v drills. The battery stand works well with 12v batteries but is clearly not designed for them or batteries that have a plug protruding into the drill handle. And here the problem arises. 18V DeWalt drills just don't fit in this holder. The base of the drill where the battery meets and locks into the drill is just too wide to fit through the horizontal hole. The stylus fits snugly in the bottom slot, but the battery just won't fit through the hole. Likewise, the 18-volt battery is too big for the upper luggage rack. So if you've got all the new 20v DeWalt drills, you've come to the right place. If you have a mix of 20v and 12v then everything is fine. However, if you own one of the 18V power drills, you will not immediately like this holder. I found a way to tilt my 18v drill bit into one of the slots to keep the drill bit in, but it's not entirely safe. If you accidentally trip over it, the drill will fall to the ground. Not the best solution. It's probably possible to take a Dremel punch tool and widen them a bit, but the metal is pretty thin to start with, so reducing the width of the metal between the drill holder slots makes the whole thing less durable, so I didn't have it still trying. However, I don't see a way to place your 18v batteries on the top rack. This is not a problem for me as I use a 20v to 18v converter for my old 18v tools and therefore no longer have 18v batteries. When my old DeWalt 18v hammer drill finally gives up and I replace it with a new 20v model I will love this drill holder. At the moment I just love it. and at the same time be moderately annoyed by it.
