I use them on glass, mirrors, appliances, dusting furniture and most importantly cleaning glass in the shower - A MUST to keep water from collecting on it and cleaning it up The water is allowed to air dry on the shower glass (my main pet peeve...I sell houses and see this a lot so I'm sensitive to that lol). The main thing is never to wash them with fabric softener (liquid or towels) - something in the fabric softener coats the fibers making them less absorbent, and debris leaves streaks. If you forgot them and washed them with conditioner, just wash them in the hottest water (or boil them on the stove). You need nothing but water to clean. If you are serious about cleanliness and shine, buy them, you will thank me :)
