Worked for a year, no longer works

Until recently I liked it when it stopped working. I had to make some brackets to fit it in the grille of my 2014 Dodge Ram 2500. It worked great, only complaint was that the pitch controls were split between up and down directions, it would have been nice to have a more accurate score. Worked last winter and in the summer here in Alaska it glows, so I tried turning it on the other day and it's dimly glowing and flickering. I'll do some research but am not sure why this would fail so easily.
