Connected with FCMB memory card preinstalled. installed my personally copied backups on an old black WD 1TB hard drive, worked great, booted up with no problems. And then I was mid-game, more specifically at the Half Life 1 loading point, and boom, hung, I heard the drive spinning at the same time. Tried a different drive. a similar old 1TB wd blue drive. It seemed to work fine, the first time I tried it the game loaded and everything. So I left him alone for a while. Now it doesn't work at all, I even bought a new 2TB seagate hard drive, booted it up and still nothing. I've also tried several other drives for smaller laptops, but nothing. It's not even that they don't download games, it's that the hard drive is not recognized. PS2 Open Bootloader just gives error 221 "Disk not recognized" and wLaunchELF can't see anything either, I can't even format drives (on PS2) and can't read them (on PS2) although they still seem to have data when I'm connected to a PC and I can transfer files as usual. It's hard to tell because Windows 10 can't see the files in the same way. But with a total of 5 damn hard drives, it's safe to say it's an adapter. It's a shame that Revain requested a refund instead of just sending a replacement. Poor product but in urgent need of replacement in case of malfunction. What I mean is that you really have no choice but to buy the original adapter and modify it yourself. Only one company makes them (probably). and there can be different manufacturers with different levels of quality control and that causes the problems I'm having. Works great when it works, but failed devices should be easy to replace.
