It works. but watch out for compatibility issues

This works, but there will be compatibility issues depending on which SATA drive you are using. I used a 2.5" WD BLACK 7200RPM drive which worked, but many games stuttered when needing to transfer data such as audio or FMV. The OPL compatibility settings helped a bit, but I don't have the time to tweak every game. Even then, it doesn't always solve stuttering problems. will be much better.

Use an SD card instead of a hard drive if you can

See, if you have an adapter that none of your drives will work with, the device may be faulty, and it does happen. Send it back and ask for a new one. I bought 2 of these and both worked with my WD Purple 1TB FMCB 1.93 build. Haven't tried other drives yet, but will update here when I do. It's running smoothly. But if you need internet, threaded parts work, and are afraid of a hard drive failure, then I highly recommend using an SD card instead. You can buy or use an official Sony adapter andโ€ฆ

Because let's face it, the only reason to buy one of the original games when the PS2 was new was to play Final Fantasy 12 (or whatever they were playing back then) and play an online game that you can. don't do anymore because I'm pretty sure the servers were taken down years ago. But I would recommend buying one of these (that's the "aftermarket" part) and trying to find an official Sony one and buying that too. The official Sonyโ€ฆ

Worked great then stopped

Connected with FCMB memory card preinstalled. installed my personally copied backups on an old black WD 1TB hard drive, worked great, booted up with no problems. And then I was mid-game, more specifically at the Half Life 1 loading point, and boom, hung, I heard the drive spinning at the same time. Tried a different drive. a similar old 1TB wd blue drive. It seemed to work fine, the first time I tried it the game loaded and everything. So I left him alone for a while. Now it doesn't work atโ€ฆ
