Review on 🔌 Leviton 5981-UCL Clear Horizontal While-in-Use Cover for GFCI/Decora Duplex and Single Outlet by Jermall Meredith

Appears to be well made and looks good. However, I couldn't fit it in because the socket was under the gasket and that cover has a huge clamshell box at the top. I'm assuming the escutcheon was installed the correct coded distance from the top of the window seal (brick) and I see other covers that don't have a huge hinge box at the top, but they probably aren't as well made either. Unfortunately, I'm sure this will be a problem for others. A design improvement could reduce this large consumption of space at the top of the box (which in my case resulted in the lid not fitting under my window seal) to meet the standard rules if that's an issue. I didn't look at the code or the rules, it's possible my outlet was high mounted. My house was built by a builder who actually lived in it, so most of the house follows the rules.
