Review on Hardwired Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector with Lithium Battery Backup - Interconnect Combination Alarm with Voice Alert by Kenyatae Tillo

Revainrating 4 out of 5

So far so good Good for safety

My previous Kidde wireless smoke alarms have reached their 10 year lifespan. Because this new series uses the same AC connector, plugging in was easy. a protrusion in the center rear of these units, making installation into an AC junction box difficult when multiple wires are present. I suppose the kick is making room for the 10 year old lithium battery. You have to push hard on the AC cables to make room. This isn't usually a problem if you have high ceilings and don't need to stand on an extension ladder. I don't know why unless we have a power outage. Otherwise there have been no false alarms so far. If your AC supply is not properly regulated, it may be better to use battery-only devices to avoid false alarms due to AC problems.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
