Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced Denso 234-4127 Oxygen Sensor by Bryce Wohlman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to install and works great!

I bought this to replace a faulty oxygen sensor on a 1999 Ford Ranger. After I uninstalled the old one, the total install time for it is less than 5 minutes. A few tips: 1. ONLY warm or cold engine! The exhaust system is very hot and you could burn yourself if you do not wait until it cools down after driving. 2. Spray the old O2 sensor liberally (not the wires) with PB Blaster or other penetrating oil. After you drink it, go. Come back in 30 minutes. This gives the penetrating oil enough time to break down some of the rust. Keep in mind that this is basically installed in one of the hottest parts of your vehicle. At these temperatures, bare metal/heat/rust will eventually fuse the tube and O2.3 sensor. Use either a) oxygen sensor sockets OR b) wrenches. If you try to remove it with a regular wrench, twist the screw provided.4. Use an O2 sensor threading tool on the outlet port after the old sensor is removed to "clean" the threads. Apply SOME (NOT ALL) of the included copper anti-seize lube to the threads (ONLY!) of the new O2 sensor and install by hand as much as possible, THEN use the O2 sensor socket to screw it in fully tightened.6. Before connecting the O2 sensor to the vehicle's wiring harness, ensure that the wiring does NOT touch any part of the exhaust pipe, manifold or catalytic converter. If the wire touches ANY of these parts, the extreme heat will destroy it and you will do it over and over again. Once the vehicle is started, an OBD-II scanner MUST be used to clear the DTCs. Even though the check engine light may not come on, the codes are still stored in the car's computer and it is believed that there is still a problem with the new O2 sensor. You can go to almost any online auto parts store and they do it for FREE! DO NOT go to a dealer or auto repair shop to have this done. They will rob you and charge you $50 to $100 for it. Much luck! wood stockva
