I bought this for my yellow 9 inch belly slide. It grew out of all the other docks but still had to come out of the water. Nothing else seemed or worked with my tank but this is perfect! The height is adjustable so I can put him in the tank far enough away from his UVA/B and heat lamps to be safe, but high enough to give him room to swim. It fits over his entire body, so if you have a large turtle this is definitely a great dock. The platform is very solid and easy to climb on, which was a major issue with all other docks and even the ramps and docks I've tried. It was very difficult for him to climb the other docks because the ramp was either not long enough or had too steep an angle. This dock has the perfect length and angled ramp for its size. And the traction bands work great to give it the traction it needs. A few of them curled up (see photo), probably because when he climbs onto the catwalk, the ends of the lanes where the ramp meets the platform rise as he walks over them. I ended up just trimming them (not shown) because where they twisted it didn't affect his traction and it hasn't been a problem for him since. I don't know if this could have been avoided if the lanes had been moved in one long lane from the back of the dock to the end of the ramp rather than in two sets of lanes. As far as cleaning goes, it's hard to clean with my tank, but I have a 50 gallon tank that's just a little wider than the length of the dock. But that's also what makes it so perfect for a tank because it spans the full width of the tank. Cleaning is garbage. I can do a spot cleaning about every two weeks and a full takeaway cleaning once a month as this doesn't attract algae or water buildup very much. The only issue I had was two clear screws broke during cleaning. Each docking arm is attached with two screws (see pictures) so I was only able to use one screw to attach them. It still worked but I didn't want to trust this setup since my turtle is so big so I contacted the seller (LaBrinx) and told them what happened. They responded immediately and within a couple of days at most they mailed me a replacement unit, more than I needed which I appreciate very much in case something else breaks. It might be better to use a different type of propeller that is less prone to breakage, but in an aquatic environment there might not be many options. And you can see in the photos that I wrapped green paper around the sides of the tank to give my turtle "privacy" while it warms up. He can be quite paranoid when out of the water, and the paper helps him feel lonely. I've seen other people use plants, but my turtle hates everything and everyone in his tank (he even attacks his filters and ramp from time to time), so this was a good way to achieve the same effect. Oh, and when he tries to chew on the ramp, he fails no matter how hard he tries, so that's another plus. I've tried a number of docks and sun decks over the 21 years of my turtle's life. and it's definitely the best I've ever had!
