Phillips screwdriver and drill used. all other parts are included. The instructions weren't impressive, but YouTube helped. the youtube video for my car is for the rear doors and the difference came into play when i realized that the actuator needs to be placed vertically (not horizontally) in the front doors. It is right to place the drive as low as possible to avoid a window and make it as vertical as possible. I didn't get it right as I bent the stem and tilted the drivetrain just enough to fit the bottom hole. Time will probably punish me for that, but in the end the damn thing worked! The driver's front door has a wiring harness that contains the two correct wires that power the new actuator. The right wires are larger than the other wires. The green drive cable is connected to the blue with an orange wire. The blue (sometimes purple) drive wire is connected to the yellow wire with a green wire. as i suspected, resetting the door panel was scary and did some damage/didn't fit perfectly, but relieved, functional. The unlock button on my key worked once the wires were connected, but the lock button didn't work until I connected the door panel! This was a nice surprise as I had resigned myself to being able to open the door with just the power button. the time will show. danced happily today.
