If I had to do it all over again I would scrap the OEM. It's enough to get the jack through, but the ends are too soft to pull the spare tire cable through on my Silverado. I removed the grommet on the truck that goes to the plug so I can see exactly what's going on. I stick the end into a hole in the back of my truck and it pulls the tire almost all the way up, but if it gets to the top before the spare is fully seated on the truck, the end starts to warp and I can't pull the spare Celebration. I re-hammered the end square and it won't stay straight. The metal is too inferior.
